ITASCA, IL (March 9, 2023) – Global freight forwarder AIT Worldwide Logistics continues to expand its footprint in Italy with the opening of a new office in Turin last month, a sister office to the company’s location in Milan.

“Increasing the size and scope of our team on the ground in Italy highlights AIT’s commitment to this important market as we continue to execute on our strategic plans for growth around the world,” said AIT’s Chief Business Officer, Greg Weigel.

As part of the company’s strategic global expansion, AIT first entered the Italian market via its acquisition of Fiege Forwarding from the FIEGE Group in 2020.

Today, both AIT-Milan and AIT-Turin quickly tailor flexible, cost-effective solutions unique to each client’s industry and specific organizational needs. Both locations offer a full suite of transportation logistics options, including comprehensive air, ground, sea, and intermodal door-to-door services, in-house customs clearance support, bonded warehouse management, temperature-sensitive shipment expertise, and more.

While both consultative teams create logistics solutions for nearly every industry, AIT-Milan most frequently serves the pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and retail markets, while the AIT-Turin facility most often supports the automotive, healthcare and technology sectors.

According to AIT-Italy Country Manager, Federico Vincinelli, his team is known for their flexible service—a reputation he plans to continue to cultivate with more locations and teammates in the future.

Today, the AIT organization, which consists of nearly 3,000 teammates across more than 110 global locations, managed nearly 5 million shipments in 2022 alone.
